On Thursday 29 August 2019, we have successfully conducted a 1-day professional course on “Seismic Assessment & Retrofitting of Existing RC Structures” at the UTP Centre for Advanced and Professional Education (CAPE), Kuala Lumpur. This course has an approved 6.0 CPD hours from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), delivered by our consultant Ir Dr Teo Wee and Dr Ehsan Nikbakht from UTP.
More than ten participants from various organizations such as Petronas GTS and Ranhill Holdings Bhd attended this course. With the encouraging response, we had interesting knowledge sharing and discussion throughout the day. This course explored the seismic assessment procedures according to Eurocode 8: Part 3, explained different analytical techniques associated with seismic assessment of RC structures and conducted an evaluation to the seismic performance of a RC building structure using SeismoBuild software.
