Aims and Objectives
This course is an entry-level qualification in concrete technology and construction, intended for those starting in the construction industry or for personnel already involved in production, use and quality control activities associated with concrete. As well as providing essential and up-to-date information for operatives engaged in concrete production or site activities, the course is also suitable for those new to the industry with a supervisory role.
The course content is in line with the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) UK entry-level qualification Concrete Practice syllabus. At the end of the course, participants have an option to sit for the examination leading to the recognized qualification Concrete Technology & Construction – Concrete Practice awarded by the Concrete Society/ICT. Successful candidates are eligible for membership of the ICT as Technician Members and are entitled to use the designatory letters TechICT after their names.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:
Know essential and up-to-date information for operatives engaged in concrete production or site activities.
Sit for ICT Stage 1 Concrete Practice examination leading to the recognized UK qualification awarded by the Concrete Society/ICT.
Who Should Attend
This course is particularly useful for diploma students, technicians, operatives, batch plant supervisors and concrete mixer operators/drivers to achieve a formal industry-recognized qualification in recognition of mastering the basic objectives of activities in the concrete industry. No prior experience is required.
